Oyster mushroom masala is a delicious spicy starter with the flavors of lemon and coriander leaves.

Step 1 :

In a kadai, heat oil, add whole cumin seeds. After spluttering of cumin seeds, add onions.

Step 2 :

Saute onions till slightly brownish. Then add the chopped tomatoes and ginger-garlic paste. Add all dry spices except garam masala powder. Add salt and mix well.

Step 3 :

Let it cook till tomatoes are fully soft and paste starts leaving oil. Then add fried brown onions & oyster mushrooms.

Step 4 :

Gently mix the mushrooms to avoid breaking them. Cover lid and let in cook for 6-8 minutes for low flame.

Step 5 :

Open lid & cook for 1-2 more minutes on medium heat to let extra moisture evaporate.

Step 6 :

Add garam masala & lemon juice. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Step 7 :

Tip: You can also add peas n capsicum along with mushrooms.
