Soft, creamy kalakand meets the rich purple goodness of jamun in this melt-in-the-mouth sweet that's as beautiful as it is delicious.

Cooking Steps

Jamun Kalakand

Step 1 :

Wash the jamuns, remove the seeds, and blend the pulp into a smooth puree. Strain if required.

Step 2 :

In a pan, cook the jamun puree with half the sugar over medium heat for 4–5 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Step 3 :

Meanwhile, bring the milk to a boil in another pan. Add the vinegar gradually while stirring until the milk curdles completely. Strain to separate the paneer from the whey.

Step 4 :

Add the freshly prepared paneer to the jamun mixture and mix well. Cook for a few minutes, stirring continuously until the flavours are well combined.

Step 5 :

Add ghee and roast the mixture for about 5 minutes. Stir in the remaining sugar and cook until the mixture thickens.

Step 6 :

Transfer to a greased plate, garnish with almonds and raisins, and allow it to cool before serving.
