Soft, steamed idlis made with proso millet rawa and urad dal, ideal for a light and wholesome breakfast.

Cooking Steps

Proso Millet Rawa Idli

Step 1 :

Soak urad dal in water for 4–6 hours. Drain the water and grind to a smooth batter using the required water.

Step 2 :

To the batter, add proso millet idli rawa and salt. Mix well and allow it to ferment overnight.

Step 3 :

Pour the fermented batter into greased idli moulds.

Step 4 :

Steam in an idli cooker for 7–10 minutes until cooked.

Step 5 :

Remove, allow to rest briefly, and demould.

Step 6 :

Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
