A creamy, wholesome twist on a classic, this Quinoa Apple Kheer blends nutrition with indulgence in every spoonful.

Cooking Steps

Quinoa Apple Kheer

Step 1 :

Rinse the quinoa thoroughly under cold water to remove the bitterness. Soak in water for 30 minutes.

Step 2 :

Wash and chop the apple. Chop the almonds and pistachios and keep aside.

Step 3 :

Discard the water from the soaked quinoa and dry roast the quinoa in a pressure cooker for 2-3 minutes. Add the chopped apples, crushed cardamom and saffron.

Step 4 :

Add water and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Turn off the heat and allow the steam to release from the pressure cooker.

Step 5 :

After the apples and quinoa are cooked, add almond milk to it and stir well to combine. Let it simmer over low heat and stir continuously for about 5-6 minutes to a thick and creamy consistency.

Step 6 :

Stir in the coconut sugar and turn off the heat. Let the kheer cool for a while and chill it in a refrigerator and garnish with sliced dry fruits and chopped apples.
