Cooking Steps

Ema Datshi (Bhutanese Chilli Cheese)

Step 1 :

In a saucepan, heat some oil, now add the smashed garlic pieces, followed by the slit green chillies.

Step 2 :

Sautee it for a minute, then place the cheese slices over the chillies. Allow them to melt for a few seconds.

Step 3 :

Using a spatula, very gently mash and mix the melted cheese. Add some salt and water to get a gravy-like consistency.

Step 4 :

Once the cheese is completely melted and forms a uniform gravy, turn off the flame.

Step 5 :

Serve it with hot steamed rice or roti and devour it immediately.
