This recipe combines masoor dal and pumpkin, creating a delightful balance of tangy and sweet flavours.

Cooking Steps

Dal Pumpkin Paturi

Step 1 :

Soak the masoor dal in water for 2 hours.

Step 2 :

Make a paste of masoor dal with raw mango, and 2 green chillies in a blender.

Step 3 :

In a bowl add dal and raw mango paste, mashed pumpkin, kasundi, salt, sugar, grated coconut, chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves and 1 tsp mustard oil and mix everything properly.

Step 4 :

Wash and cut banana leaves in rectangular shape and toast them.

Step 5 :

Take a banana leaf, place the dal pumpkin mixture, drizzle some mustard oil and place one green chilli. Wrap the leaf and prick it with a toothpick. Apply some oil in a pan, put the wraps, cover and cook for 5 minutes and then turn and cook for another 5 minutes. Serve hot with rice.
