Pumpkin Flowers Cheesy Fritters

Step 1 :

Clean the pumpkin flowers individually under slow running water and pat them dry on a paper napkin. Keep aside.

Step 2 :

Meanwhile, cut out lower part/sepal of the flower (which contains a stalk, a bottom and at the center, a stigma which is 0.5-1 inch in length and yellow in color). Leave the petal.

Step 3 :

Now for the stuffing prepare a mix of Britannia cheese cubes, grated paneer, pepper powder, chopped onion, and grated carrot.

Step 4 :

Take one flower at a time and slowly fill the cheese stuffing inside the pumpkin flowers and then close the petals. Keep them aside.

Step 5 :

Now prepare the gram flour batter with 2 tsp water and a pinch of salt. Add the kalonji seeds for extra flavor.

Step 6 :

Heat rice bran oil in a nonstick kadai on a medium flame.

Step 7 :

Deep fry the stuffed pumpkin flower, cheese-stuffed fritters. Turn, till golden brown on both sides.

Step 8 :

Serve hot with any chutney or sauce (as per your choice) with onion rings and fried peanuts.
