Cooking Steps

Step 1 :

Wash and soak the rice for 15 minutes.

Step 2 :

Add ghee to the pan. When slightly warm, roast almonds, peanuts and raisins. Keep it aside.

Step 3 :

In the same pan, add cloves and bay leaf. Roast it a little.

Step 4 :

Drain the rice and add it in the pan. Roast it for 1 to 2 minutes in the ghee.

Step 5 :

Add the water and allow it to cook.

Step 6 :

In the meantime, dry roast white sesame seeds till they begin to crackle. Crush the sesame seeds to coarse powder and keep it aside.

Step 7 :

When the rice is almost cooked, add powdered jaggery, sesame powder, roasted almonds, peanuts and raisins. Mix it gently and cover it with a lid.

Step 8 :

Allow the rice to cook completely.

Step 9 :

Garnish it with some sesame seeds and dry fruits. Serve it hot.
