Kadapa Style Muslim Mutton Biryani

High on taste and easy to make! This spicy biryani tastes great with raita or gongura curry.

Preparation

Step 1 :

First marinate mutton with curd. Keep it aside for some time.

Step 2 :

Take a big pan or a big cooker and put it in the stove.

Step 3 :

Add one big spoon of ghee and one big spoon of oil.

Step 4 :

Then add some shahjeera, laung, dalchini, elaichi, star anise and bay leaf.

Step 5 :

Next, add onions (thin slices) after they turn red brown in colour.

Step 6 :

Add some methi leaves and garlic-ginger paste. Mix it for 2-3 minutes.

Step 7 :

Then add tomatoes, coriander leaves, pudina leaves, red chilli powder, garam masala, salt and turmeric.

Step 8 :

Mix it and leave for 5 minutes on a low flame. After that, add mashed the tomatoes.

Step 9 :

When it becomes a soft paste, add marinated mutton to it. Mix it well.

Step 10 :

Close the lid and leave it for 20-25 minutes in a low flame.

Step 11 :

If you want, you can check in between and add some water to cook the mutton soft and tender.

Step 12 :

After mutton is cooked, add water in it (for 2 cups rice add 4 cups of water).

Step 13 :

Then, add some lemon juice and some pudina and coriander leaves and salt.

Step 14 :

When water is boiling, add rice and mix well.

Step 15 :

Cook the rice in a slow flame. When the rice cooks perfectly mix the whole bowl slowly and your biryani is ready.

Step 16 :

It goes very well with raita and gongura curry.
