A very traditional and original recipe from God's Own Country - Kerala, which can be prepared with variations of vegetables too.This dish is called Morekoottan (Malayalam) and Morekuzhambu (Tamil), a simple, tasty, nutritious and enjoyable dish eaten along with rice, curry with pappad.

Step 1 :

Beat the curd well without any lumps and keep it aside.

Step 2 :

Grind the grated coconut, green chillies and whole pepper to a fine paste.

Step 3 :

Bring the ground paste to a boil in water, adding little salt and turmeric powder.

Step 4 :

Add the beaten curd to this paste, stir well and ensure to turn off the flame before the curd starts to boil to avoid curdling. Adjust the salt to taste.

Step 5 :

Heat a pan with Gingely or Refined oil.

Step 6 :

Add mustard, red chillies and fenugreek to this oil and season. Place sprigs of curry leaves.

Step 7 :

Now, this dish is ready to be served with steaming hot white rice.
