Prawn Malai Curry

One of the popular Bengali cuisines, this prawn dish is going to make you crave for more. Relish it with steaming rice.

Method

Step 1 :

Add turmeric powder and salt to the lobsters, mix well and marinate for 15-20 mins.

Step 2 :

Mix the powder/grated coconut with cream and keep aside

Step 3 :

Heat oil and fry the marinated lobsters - both sides in a pan, then keep them aside

Step 4 :

Heat oil and fry the marinated lobsters – both sides – then keep them aside

Step 5 :

Stir and add chopped onion and salt.

Step 6 :

Saute for 5 to 7 mins and then add turmeric and cumin powder.

Step 7 :

Add some water and saute continuously.

Step 8 :

Now add ginger paste and saute again.

Step 9 :

After 5 min add salt, sugar, red chili powder, black mustard paste and coconut paste and cook till oil gets separated from the gravy.

Step 10 :

Add the fried lobsters, green chilies and water.

Step 11 :

Boil for 10 min and then spread some ghee over the gravy before serving.
