Pabda Machher Jhal is an authentic Bengali fish curry recipe. Fried fish dip in spiced gravy and serve with rice.

Cooking Steps

Pabda Machher Jhal

Step 1 :

Cut and wash the fish first.

Step 2 :

Marinate the fish with salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder.

Step 3 :

Heat 2 tbsp oil & shallow fry the fishes. Once it's done take out from pan.

Step 4 :

Add little oil in the same pan. Add dry Red Chili, panch foron & fry it for few seconds.

Step 5 :

Add onion paste, ginger-garlic-green chilli paste & Tomato paste. Fry it for few more seconds.

Step 6 :

Finally add little salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder & cumin powder. Mix it well.

Step 7 :

Chop the potatoes & add it to the spices.

Step 8 :

Add 2 glass hot water & cook it till the potatoes turns soft.

Step 9 :

Once it's done then add Garam masala & fried fishes.

Step 10 :

It's ready now. Just add some chopped coriander leaves & enjoy it with hot rice.
