Crispy on the outside, tender within—this spiced fried arbi brings earthy flavour and bold crunch to every bite.

Cooking Steps

Spiced Crispy Fried Arbi

Step 1 :

Wash and boil the arbi for at least 10-12 minutes on a high flame. You may boil it in the pressure cooker for 1 whistle.

Step 2 :

Let the arbi cool down for a few minutes. Peel off the skin. Using a sharp knife, slice not very thin and keep aside until cooled completely.

Step 3 :

In a heavy pan, heat up the oil and slide the arbi slices in hot oil and fry until golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, drain the excess oil and remove the fried arbi chips on a paper towel.

Step 4 :

Sprinkle salt and spices generously on the fried chips while still hot. Note: You may vary the seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder and dried herbs like basil or oregano.
