Goan Fish Curry

A flavourful coastal delight, made with fresh fish and coconut, a signature of Goa’s cuisine.

Goan Fish Curry

Step 1 :

Wash and clean the fish pieces, marinate them in a mixture of salt, red chilli powder, turmeric and kokum concentrate and keep it aside.

Step 2 :

In a blending jar add the coconut, onion pieces, tomato, bedgi red chillies, black peppercorns, cloves and garlic cloves.

Step 3 :

Blend everything to get a very smooth paste.

Step 4 :

In a kadhai, add the oil and temper it with mustard seeds. Once they begin to crackle add the curry leaves, then add the blended coconut gravy. Cover and cook the gravy for about 10 minutes or until the raw smell wears off.

Step 5 :

Now add the marinated pieces of fish to the gravy, and cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 6 :

Remove from flame and garnish with fresh coriander.

Step 7 :

Enjoy this appetizing fish curry with hot rice.
