A modern twist to the traditional gavvalu recipe.

For Gavvalu Guvvalu

Step 1 :

Take a bowl and add wheat flour and salt to it. Mix well. Further, add 2 tablespoons of hot oil and carefully combine the mixture.

Step 2 :

Pour water as needed to form a stiff and tight dough. Knead well and cover it with a lid. Keep aside for 10mins.

Step 3 :

After 10 minutes, make small balls of the dough and using a rolling pin, flatten the balls similar to poori.

Step 4 :

Place the flattened poori on gavva sweet maker (flattened wooden plank with narrow grooves) or stainless steel spider strainer and press gently and fold to form tubes (gavvalu).

Step 5 :

Deep fry them in batches in hot oil on medium flame only. Transfer the fried gavvalu to a plate and turn off the flame.

Step 6 :

In a kadai add butter and allow it to melt. Then add sugar, coconut milk powder and vanilla essence to it. Mix well to form a smooth paste. Turn off the flame.

Step 7 :

Transfer the above mixture to a piping cone. Take each gavva and fill it with the above mixture using a piping cone. Serve the twisted gavvalu.
