Hilsa in creamy mustard sauce

Delicious Hilsa in a creamy coconut sauce cooked in 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Cooking Steps

Hilsa fish curry

Step 1 :

Marinate the fish with 2 tsp turmeric powder and salt. Keep in a covered bowl for 10 minutes.

Step 2 :

Heat 2 tbsp. oil and lightly fry the fish and keep aside.

Step 3 :

Add the additional one tbsp. oil in the same pan. Heat and add nigella seeds and two chillies. Fry on low heat for a minute.

Step 4 :

Add the remaining turmeric powder and fry for one minute, add a little water while frying on low heat.

Step 5 :

Increase the heat to medium and add the coconut milk. Bring to a boil.

Step 6 :

Add the fish in the boiling gravy. Reduce the gas to low and cover the pan.

Step 7 :

After 4 to 5 minutes, turn the fish pieces. Add the remaining chilies and sprinkle the coriander leaves on top. Cover and put off the gas.

Step 8 :

Open after 3 to 4 minutes and serve on a bed of steamed hot rice.
