Apple Strudel

An absolutely yummy and easy modified version of an authentic Austrian Strudel.

Step 1 :

Wash and peel off the skin from each of the apples. Cut the apples into thin slices and set it aside.

Step 2 :

Mix the thinly sliced apples with raisins, cinnamon powder, sugar powder and 1 tsp of lemon juice.

Step 3 :

Make a soft dough with maida, butter and salt.

Step 4 :

Roll the dough into 0.5 cm thick rectangular sheet.

Step 5 :

Make parallel cuts on either sides avoiding the central area.

Step 6 :

Place the prepared mix at the central area and fold either sides one by one in a braided fashion.

Step 7 :

Using a baking brush, brush the egg yolk on the top portion of the pastry.

Step 8 :

Bake it in a pre-heated oven at 220° C for 25 minutes.
