Cooking Steps

Step 1 :

Take a watermelon scoop out the flesh, peel off the green skin and keep the white part in a separate bowl.

Step 2 :

Cut the white part or the watermelon rind into small cubes and set it aside.

Step 3 :

Make a puree from the watermelon rind using a mixer and keep it aside.

Step 4 :

Take a vessel, add 4 tbsp ghee, 1 tbsp rava and 1 tbsp gram flour. Stir it until they turn light brown in colour.

Step 5 :

Add the watermelon rind puree to it and cook till the water is absorbed properly.

Step 6 :

Add sugar to taste and cook for 5 minutes. Add a pinch of cardamom powder and cook for 1 minute.

Step 7 :

Add milk and cook until the texture like halwa is formed, the watermelon rind halwa is now ready to eat.

Step 8 :

Garnish it with chopped almonds and cashew nuts.
