Chana Dal Paratha is a very famous recipe of Uttar Pradesh. People usually like to have it with yellow pumpkin sabzi and Bakheer (Sweet rice).

Step 1 :

Soak chana dal for 4-5 hours or overnight.

Step 2 :

In a pressure cooker, add mustard oil, jeera and hing. Saute until aromatic.

Step 3 :

Add soaked chana dal to it, along with turmeric, salt and add water. Close the cooker lid and cook it for 5-6 whistles, on medium flame.

Step 4 :

Once done, open the lid and mash the cooked dal well with a masher.

Step 5 :

Take wheat flour in a bowl. Add curd and a little water to it. Knead it into a soft dough.

Step 6 :

Divide the dough into 8 equal parts.

Step 7 :

Take a portion of the dough, make an in impression using your thumb and fill it with the prepared dal mixture in it.

Step 8 :

Roll it out into a roti and place it on a heated tawa. Cook it on both sides using a little ghee.

Step 9 :

Serve it hot with pumpkin sabzi.
