Malai Roll is a very easy and delicious dessert recipe. It can be made in a very short time with ingredients easily available. It is sure to be a hit on any special occasion.

Step 1 : To prepare the mawa
Take a skillet and add butter, 1/4th cup milk, 1 tbsp sugar and 1/2 cup powdered milk and keep stirring so that the mixture does not stick to the skillet.
Step 2 :
Once the mawa is ready, the mixture will become dry and slightly lumpy. Now, remove it from the skillet and let it cool.
Step 3 : For the rabdi
Pour 1 cup of milk, 1/4th cup sugar, 1 tbsp powdered milk and soaked saffron in 1 tbsp milk, one after the other into the same skillet. Keep stirring on medium heat.
Step 4 :
When it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and wait for the mixture to reach the right consistency for a rabdi.
Step 5 :
Take four slices of bread. Flatten them with a rolling pin.
Step 6 :
Then, soak each slice in milk which is at room temperature.
Step 7 :
After soaking, place each slice very carefully on your palm and gently press the excess milk out.
Step 8 :
Place a bread slice on a plate. Put some mawa onto one end and roll the slice. Repeat for each slice.
Step 9 :
Place the mawa filled bread rolls on a serving plate and pour the rabdi over it. Malai roll is ready to eat, garnish with ground pista if desired.
