Easy Coconut Barfi

Coconut Barfi is a sweet made with coconut, sugar and cardamom. It is one of the simplest traditional sweet recipes made for festive occasions. Traditionally, barfi is usually made with milk and sugar, but this recipe has condensed milk as a substitute which makes it faster and easier to cook.

Step 1 :

Line up a square dish and grease it with oil.

Step 2 :

Crush green cardamom and thinly slice pistachios.

Step 3 :

Take a nonstick saucepan and add desiccated coconut to it.

Step 4 :

Put the saucepan on low heat and dry roast desiccated coconut till light brown in colour, stirring continuously (it will take only 2-3 minutes), once done switch off the heat.

Step 5 :

Now add condensed milk to it and mix well.

Step 6 :

Add crushed cardamom and ghee to it and mix it well.

Step 7 :

Put the saucepan on heat and cook for just 1 minute.

Step 8 :

Transfer this mixture to lined square dish and press it well.

Step 9 :

Sprinkle pistachios over it and press it a little.

Step 10 :

Let it cool on room temperature and cut into squares and serve.
