Cooking Steps
Step 1 :
In a bowl, add maida, rava and a pinch of salt.
Step 2 :
In a small pan, heat the oil well and pour it into the maida mixture.
Step 3 :
Mix the mixture with a spoon to combine the ingredients. Now, add milk to it and knead it into a smooth soft dough. Ensure there are no lumps formed in it.
Step 4 :
Freshly grate a coconut, roughly chop jaggery into pieces and keep it aside.
Step 5 :
Heat ghee in a pan, add grated coconut and saute it well until aromatic.
Step 6 :
Add jaggery to the coconut mixture and allow it to melt, stirring it occasionally.
Step 7 :
Once the jaggery completely melts, add chopped dry fruits to it. Switch off the flame and let it cool down.
Step 8 :
Make small balls from the dough and roll it into small circles like a puri.
Step 9 :
Add 1 tbsp of the coconut and jaggery stuffing in the middle of the rolled out dough. Fold the sides one by one and bring it to the top.
Step 10 :
Heat a kadai with oil and deep dry the modaks until golden brown.
