It is a traditional sweet that is popular in South India. It is prepared during festive occasions like Ganesh Chaturthi, Ugadi, etc.

Step 1 : For the dough

Mix wheat flour and rava with water and make tight dough. Let it rest it for 20 minutes.

Step 2 : For the stuffing

In a pan, shallow fry grated coconut, rava and sugar in ghee till the sugar mixture melts.

Step 3 :

Take the dough out, divide it equally into small balls. Roll it into small thick sheets.

Step 4 :

Place the stuffing at the centre and use boat shaped moulds to get the shape of a Kadabu. This is done so that the stuffing doesn’t come out.

Step 5 :

Deep fry the Kargadabu till it turns golden brown.

Step 6 :

Take it out from the pan and serve fresh. You can use tissue paper to absorb excess oil from the Kargadabu.
