Black Forest Cake consists of several layers of chocolate sponge cake sandwiched with whipped cream and cherries.

Step 1 :

Preheat the oven at 180°C. Grease the cake tin with butter and dust maida or cocoa powder on it.

Step 2 :

Melt the compound chocolate, using a double boiler method. Mix the icing sugar with the melted chocolate and soften butter in a mixing bowl.

Step 3 :

To this, add yogurt and mix the ingredients well.

Step 4 :

Now, sieve flour, baking soda, baking powder and cocoa powder around 2-3 times.

Step 5 :

In portions, add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix gently.

Step 6 :

Add vanilla essence to it and whisk it well with a whisk or a whisk machine for 5 minutes.

Step 7 :

Lastly, add vinegar and give it a good mix. Pour the batter into the cake tin.

Step 8 :

Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 35-40 minutes.

Step 9 :

Remove the baked cake from the oven and let it cool on the wire rack for few minutes.

Step 10 :

Cut the cake horizontally into 2 halves using thread. Drain the cherry syrup from cherries.

Step 11 :

Pour the syrup onto the cake halves and allow them to soak.

Step 12 :

Add cream and sugar to a bowl placed on ice cubes.

Step 13 :

Place the whipped cream on one of the cake halves and top it with cherries.

Step 14 :

Place the other cake half, over the topped cake half, to sandwich the cream and cherries.

Step 15 :

Top it with whipped cream, sprinkle grated chocolate generously. Decorate it with cherries and serve.
