A decadent and rich sweet dish which is surprisingly easy to make. Since it is such a simple recipe, this halwa is perfect for any occasion. A perfect dessert to satiate after a spicy and filling meal!

Step 1 :

Soak dried figs in hot boiling water for half an hour. Drain the figs using a strainer and blend them into a coarse and thick paste using 4 tbsp of water.

Step 2 :

Heat 3 tbsp ghee in a thick bottomed pan and add nuts, cook it for a minute.

Step 3 :

Add pureed figs, mix well and cook on low-medium flame for 5 minutes while stirring continuously.

Step 4 :

Now, add quarter cup of sugar and khoya. Mix it well. Cook for a couple of minutes till it slightly thickens.

Step 5 :

Add the remaining 1 tbsp of ghee, mix, cook for a minute and switch off.

Step 6 :

Spoon the halwa in serving bowls and serve warm.
