Horchata is a Spanish/Mexican drink made with rice and is flavored with cinnamon and sweetened with sugar.

Step 1 :

Rinse rice with running water.

Step 2 :

Blend rice in 6 cups of water until the rice just begins to break. Let the rice and water rest at room temperature for 3 hours, minimum.

Step 3 :

Strain the rice water into a pitcher and discard the rice.

Step 4 :

Add milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon and sugar into the rice water.

Step 5 :

Garnish with crushed pistachio, almonds, cashew nuts.

Step 6 :

Chill and stir before serving with ice cubes.
