The hot blazing summers are right here and this juice would keep the stomach cool, full and provide protection against the summer heat. Apart from the several health benefits that come with it, wood apple is also considered auspicious and is widely used during 'pujas' as well.

Step 1 :

Break the outer hard shell of the wood apple.

Step 2 :

Scoop out the pulp with the help of a spoon. Discard the seeds carefully.

Step 3 :

Put the fruit pulp in water and keep it for 5 minutes so that it becomes soft.

Step 4 :

Now, it can be easily mashed, strain away the fiber and seeds (if any).

Step 5 :

Add sugar, lemon juice and salt, stir well. Let it chill in the refrigerator for 5 minutes.

Step 6 :

Now, mix the mixture with soda, stir it once again before serving.

Step 7 :

Wet the outside rim of a shot glass with a lime wedge and then dip the rim into a small bowl of salt.

Step 8 :

Set it aside. Pour into the salt-rimmed shot glass chilled.
