These homemade balushahi recipe is loved by all and is always a preferred Holi sweet in many houses, all over India.

Step 1 :

Sieve maida and baking soda together.

Step 2 :

Add ghee and mix well with hand.

Step 3 :

Now, add curd and make a soft dough.

Step 4 :

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and keep aside for an hour.

Step 5 :

Make small round shaped balls with the dough, flatten it slightly and make a depression in the center with your thumb.

Step 6 :

Heat oil in a pan and fry 4-5 at a time on low flame till it turns golden brown in colour.

Step 7 :

Boil sugar and 1 cup of water together to make two thread consistency syrup.

Step 8 :

Add balushahi to the slightly warm syrup. Keep it soaked for 10 minutes in the syrup.

Step 9 :

Take them out in a serving plate and garnish it with chopped pistachios at the center.
