Beetroot Chana Kebab

This kebab is a healthy, protein, fiber and vitamin rich evening snack and is a great alternative to a tikki made with potatoes that are high in calories.

Step 1 :

Wash and soak horse gram in enough water, overnight.

Step 2 :

Next day, add horse gram and beetroot in a pressure cooker along with water and salt.

Step 3 :

Close the lid and cook it for 3-4 whistles.

Step 4 :

Turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally.

Step 5 :

Drain any excess water from the cooked beetroot and grams.

Step 6 :

In a mixer, grind boil horse gram and beetroot together into a coarse paste.

Step 7 :

Transfer the paste into a bowl. Add rava, ginger garlic paste, onion, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt to it and mix it well to combine.

Step 8 :

Divide it into small balls and slightly flatten the balls.

Step 9 :

Heat a pan on medium flame, add oil. Place the tikkis in it and fry until it turns crisp on both sides.

Step 10 :

Serve this tikki along with tomato sauce.
