Beetroot Hummus

It is a healthy recipe with the goodness of protein enhanced with the addition of beetroot. It is a nourishing dish for people of all age groups.

Step 1 :

Boil overnight soaked chickpeas, in a vessel.

Step 2 :

Dry roast sesame seeds on low flame in a pan.

Step 3 :

Make a paste of the roasted sesame seeds using a little water.

Step 4 :

Roast a beetroot in a pan with a little oil.

Step 5 :

In a grinder, grind boiled chickpeas, roasted beetroot, sesame paste, garlic pieces, salt, red chilli powder, lemon juice and generous amount of olive oil.

Step 6 :

Grind all the ingredients in a mixer and keep adding olive oil to ensure it blends smoothly.

Step 7 :

Transfer it to a bowl and garnish it with little olive oil, chopped coriander leaves and sesame seeds.

Step 8 :

Adjust the amount of salt and lemon juice to enhance the taste.
