Prawn Sukka

Mangalorean style Prawn Sukka is a simple dish to make. It tastes delicious and doesn't take much time to prepare.

Step 1 :

In a vessel, boil some water, add prawns and a pinch of salt to it. Allow it to cook for 3-4 minutes.

Step 2 :

Dry roast the coriander seeds, cumin seeds, methi seeds, peppercorn, tamarind pieces and dry red chilies.

Step 3 :

Just before switching off the flame add in the garlic and grated coconut. Cool the roasted spices and grind it to a coarse paste.

Step 4 :

In a pan, add oil, chopped onions and curry leaves.

Step 5 :

Once the onion turns pinkish, add it to the coarse paste.

Step 6 :

Saute it till it leaves oil from all sides and gives out an aroma. Add in the prawns and salt to taste and mix well for 1-2 minutes.

Step 7 :

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

Step 8 :

Serve it with neer dosa or appam.
