Step 1 :
Wash the prawns clean and keep it in a bowl.
Step 2 :
Sprinkle turmeric powder, salt and red chilly powder and keep aside for 20 minutes.
Step 3 :
In a pan, heat up oil and crackle cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf.
Step 4 :
Add ginger paste and saute for a minute before adding onions.
Step 5 :
Cook till the onions get translucent and oil is separated.
Step 6 :
Add in green chillies, potatoes, salt and sugar, cook it for a minute.
Step 7 :
Sprinkle turmeric powder and red chilly powder, let it cook for a minute or two.
Step 8 :
Pour coconut milk, mix well and let it come to a boil on medium heat.
Step 9 :
Let it cook till the gravy turns a little thick.
Step 10 :
Meanwhile in a separate pan, heat oil and crackle panchforan.
Step 11 :
Immediately, add a cup of water and let it come to a boil.
Step 12 :
Add the prawns and fresh grated coconut, let it cook till they turn pink in color and curl up.
Step 13 :
Once done, add prawns and little water to the coconut gravy.
Step 14 :
Cook on simmer for 5-6 minutes till prawns and potatoes are soft.
Step 15 :
Serve hot with boiled rice, garnished with fresh coriander.
