Step 1 :
In a bowl, add maida, custard powder and sugar. Mix well until it combines.
Step 2 :
In another bowl, add butter, egg and vanilla essence mix well until you obtain a smooth mixture.
Step 3 :
Now add the flour mixture to the butter mixture in portions. Ensure there are no lumps.
Step 4 :
Mix well until a smooth texture is obtained from the mixture.
Step 5 :
Prepare a baking tray and grease it generously with butter.
Step 6 :
Preheat the oven at 180°C for 10 minutes.
Step 7 :
Scoop out balls of mixture and set it on the baking tray. Make sure to leave some gap between each balls.
Step 8 :
Bake it in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
Step 9 :
Cool it on a rack and serve it with tea.
