Paneer Peas Tikki

This super delicious, healthy starter is easy to prepare and is a quick dish too. It is loaded with protein as paneer and peas are the main ingredients.

Step 1 :

Boil peas in water for 5-7 minutes.

Step 2 :

Grind the boiled peas after draining the water along with coriander leaves and a green chilli into a paste.

Step 3 :

Meanwhile, immerse the paneer in warm water for 2 minutes.

Step 4 :

Drain the water and mash paneer with your hand and add the prepare peas paste to it. Add grated cheese and grated carrot to enhance the flavour of the tikki.

Step 5 :

Add cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, chaat masala, red chilli powder, methi and salt to the mixture and mix it well to allow the flavours to incorporate.

Step 6 :

Heat a pan, make small balls of the mixture, once the ghee is heated, flatten the balls and place it in the pan.

Step 7 :

Smear a little ghee on one side of the tikki and flip it to the other side. Allow the tikki to cook well on both sides. Ensure to apply little ghee on both sides before frying it.

Step 8 :

Cook each side for 2 minutes. You can fry 6-7 tikkis in a batch.

Step 9 :

Serve the tikkis, hot in a plate along with ketchup or mint chutney.
