Step 1 :
Slice the onions into thick slices as desired.
Step 2 :
Once done, roughly mix it with your hand to ensure the rings do not stick to each other.
Step 3 :
In a bowl, add maida flour, cornstarch, salt and baking powder, mix it well.
Step 4 :
Place 2 to 3 onion rings at a time in this mixture and coat them well.
Step 5 :
Set aside the coated rings in a separate dish. Add pepper and salt to it, stirring until it is well seasoned.
Step 6 :
Once all the rings are done, pour water in the flour mixture and make a smooth batter out of it.
Step 7 :
Dip the onion rings once more in this mixture and immediately coat it in bread crumbs.
Step 8 :
Heat oil in a kadai over medium heat.
Step 9 :
Fry a set of 4-5 rings in a batch, ensure the rings do not stick to each other.
Step 10 :
Once they turn golden brown in colour, remove it from the kadai and allow it to rest on napkins.
Step 11 :
Serve these crispy rings hot with some sauce.
