Palak Chicken is a popular North Indian dish where chicken pieces are cooked in a mild spiced spinach gravy. It is a very healthy and nutritious dish.

Step 1 :

Wash and rough chop spinach.

Step 2 :

In a mixer, add spinach and a little water. Grind it into a smooth paste and set it aside.

Step 3 :

Heat oil in a sauce pan and saute the onions till golden brown.

Step 4 :

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until it softens.

Step 5 :

Now, add garlic pods and saute it until aromatic.

Step 6 :

Add ginger paste, chopped green chilly, turmeric powder, chilly powder, cumin powder and coriander powder, toss it well.

Step 7 :

Add chicken pieces, saute it along with the tomato masala and cook this until it is half cooked.

Step 8 :

If needed, add half a cup of water to the sauce pan to allow the chicken to cook better.

Step 9 :

Once done, add spinach paste, methi, nutmeg powder, garam masala powder and add fresh cream to it. Mix it and allow the chicken to cook well.

Step 10 :

Serve this with chapati or naan.
