Step 1 :

Soak green gram dal for about 3-4 hours.

Step 2 :

Soak rice for about 20-25 minutes.

Step 3 :

In pressure cooker, add ghee, cloves, badi elachi, jeera and saute it for 2 minutes.

Step 4 :

Add soaked dal, rice and 4 cups of water.

Step 5 :

Cover the cooker with the lid and allow it to cook for 1-2 whistles.

Step 6 :

In small pan, add ghee.

Step 7 :

When the ghee melts, add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, hing, salt, green chillies, toss it well in the pan.

Step 8 :

Now, pour this tadka in the cooker.

Step 9 :

Mix it well and serve the khichdi in a bowl, with a dollop of melted ghee and roasted papad.
