Paruppu Payasam is a traditional South Indian dish, made of moong dal and jaggery. This is very healthy and is prepared during festivals.

Step 1 :

In a vessel, cook moong dal with water, until it softens.

Step 2 :

Mash it well and add jaggery powder to it, while it is cooking on low heat.

Step 3 :

Stir it well till the powder dissolves.

Step 4 :

Add boiled milk and give it a stir.

Step 5 :

Add cardamom powder and coconut and let it cook for 2 minutes and turn off.

Step 6 :

Heat ghee and roast raisins and cashew nuts in it, mix the dry fruits in the ghee.

Step 7 :

Serve it hot or at room temperature.
