Gokul Pithe is a fried khoya and maida sweet, dipped in sugar syrup. Its specialty is the crunchiness, complimented with the softness of the sweetened khoya.

Step 1 : To make the batter

Mix 1 cup maida with 3 tbsp of refined oil. Mix it well till it forms a soft dough. Add milk in portions and bring the consistency to a thick batter.

Step 2 : To make the filling

Mix unsweetened khova with 1 tbsp powdered sugar, prepare small balls and flatten it a bit. Adjust sugar accordingly.

Step 3 :

Heat 1 cup sugar with 1.5 cup water till the syrup is sticky.

Step 4 :

Heat 1 cup oil in a kadai.

Step 5 :

Dip the khoya ball into the batter, and slowly release it into the kadai. Deep fry it till light golden brown in colour.

Step 6 :

Let it cool for a couple of minutes. This will ensure the crispiness stays.

Step 7 :

Dip in syrup for 3-4 minutes and remove. Do not leave it for too long as it may become soggy.

Step 8 :

Your Gokul Pithe is ready! For those with an extra sweet tooth, lightly garnish with milkmaid on top.
