Basanti Pulao

This is a very easy and simple recipe of a Pulao.

Cooking Steps

Step 1 :

Heat the pan and add oil and 1 tbsp ghee.

Step 2 :

Add garam masala, and bay leaves. Fry for a few seconds. Meanwhile, soak rice in a bowl of water for 15 minutes, after washing it.

Step 3 :

Next, add cashew nuts and raisins. Allow it to cook for a few seconds.

Step 4 :

Add the rice and stir fry it on sim.

Step 5 :

Add 2 tsp grated ginger, ½ tsp turmeric powder and mix it well.

Step 6 :

Allow the rice to cook on medium flame for about 2 minutes. Once done, add 6 cups hot water and salt in it.

Step 7 :

Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.

Step 8 :

Now, add 3 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp ghee, and ½ tsp garam masala powder. Toss it well in the pan.

Step 9 :

Allow it to cook for around a minute and switch of the gas. Let it rest for 5 minutes with the lid closed before serving the dish.
