Corn Vada

A delicious, deep fried vada recipe whipped up out of corn, beaten rice and seasonings. Enjoy as it is or serve with tomato ketchup.

Preparation

Step 1 :

Remove the corn kernels.

Step 2 :

Grind them with green chillies and ginger in a mixer.

Step 3 :

Grind rice flakes [poha] into powder-like fine rava.

Step 4 :

Mix the above two ground items and add small pieces of onion, hing, salt and cut coriander leaves. Make the batter and use immediately without letting it soak.

Step 5 :

Heat the oil in the kadai.

Step 6 :

Wet your hands, take some batter and give it a round shape.

Step 7 :

When the oil is heated (keep it on a medium flame), slide the vada in and fry till golden in colour.

Step 8 :

Vadas will be crisp.
