Homemade Lasagne

A cheesy and delicious layered lasagne treat. Vegetarians can add palak and rajma to make it healthier.

Preparation

Step 1 :

Boil the lasagne sheets in salt water, drain and keep aside.

Step 2 :

Slice mushrooms and soak them in water. Heat oil in a pan and add butter. Sauté chopped garlic, onion and green chillies for a few minutes. Add mushrooms, mixed herbs, pepper and salt and stir for few more minutes. Add grated cheese and remove from fire.

Step 3 :

Heat oil in a pan. Add butter, chopped onions and capsicums and sauté for a while. Then, add red chilli powder, black pepper powder and blanched and chopped tomatoes. Stir for 5 minutes. Mix in boiled corn, chopped celery, hot and sweet sauce and grated cheese. Add salt to taste and keep aside.

Step 4 :

Heat butter in a pan, add maida and stir for 2-3 minutes, till it cooks but does not change colour. Then add the entire milk and keep stirring till it thickens. Add grated cheese, salt and pepper powder and remove from fire.

Step 5 : To Assemble

Grease a rectangular oven proof dish with butter. Place the lasagne sheet to cover the base. Spread the mushroom or chicken layer prepared in step 2 over it. Sprinkle some grated cheese and white sauce over it. Then place another lasagne sheet over it.

Step 6 :

Pour the tomato layer prepared in step 3 over it. Top it with a layer of grated cheese and a layer of white sauce. Cover with a lasagne sheet and a layer of pizza cheese and cheese on the top. Bake in the oven at 160 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or till the cheese turns golden brown. Serve hot.
