Who doesn't love Kheer? The thick, mouth watering and layered taste, the heavenly sweetness and the rich aroma of the dish is enough to make one go into a frenzy. Enjoy the dish now made healthier with Quinoa.

Preparation

Step 1 :

Put milk in a large heavy bottomed sauce pan . Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 30 mins.

Step 2 :

Stir every 5 mins, until it becomes half.

Step 3 :

Add quinoa and continue cooking for another 15 mins till the quinoa is tender and milk is thick.

Step 4 :

Add the cream, cardamom , nutmeg, saffron and mix together. Cook on low heat for 2 -3 mins while stirring continuously.

Step 5 :

Remove from heat and cool. Pour into bowls and plastic wrap the bowls carefully touching the surface to avoid formation of the skin.

Step 6 :

Cool for about 2 hours and garnish with silver leaf before serving.
