Easy Coconut Burfi

This is a very popular Indian sweet and is one of the oldest sweets prepared in India during any festival like raksha bandhan or ganesh chaturthi.This is very easy recipe to prepare at home.Plate this burfi in the form of watermelon.

Preparation

Step 1 :

Dry Roast the coconut for 2-3 minutes on medium-high flame till it gives a good aroma. Do not brown it.

Step 2 :

Add condensed milk and keep stirring it till the condensed milk is nicely mixed with the coconut.

Step 3 :

Add 1Tbsp sugar powder and mix well.

Step 4 :

When the mixture becomes relatively dry add in the ghee and stir well. Next add in the cardamom powder and mix.

Step 5 :

When everything is mixed well and the mixture reaches a dough like consistency switch off the flame.This process will take around 3-5 minutes.

Step 6 :

Grease the plate with little ghee and keep it aside.

Step 7 :

Divide the mixture into two portions: to 1/4th of the mixture add green food colour and to the rest of the mixture add in the red colour.

Step 8 :

Take green coloured mixture and pat it gently on the sides of a plate as a slice of watermelon and then stick to it a layer of red coloured mixture.

Step 9 :

Place on top some chocochips in random which gives the effect of seeds of watermelon. And let it cool down a bit or place it in a refrigerator for half an hour then take it out and cut into slices and serve.
