Preparation

Step 1 :

Chop onions and tomatoes

Step 2 :

Wash and soak masoor dal

Step 3 :

Saute the onions and garlic for a minute

Step 4 :

Add the tomatoes and saute again for a minute

Step 5 :

Add sambhar powder, turmeric powder and salt, saute for another minute

Step 6 :

Add the dal and keep stirring for 2 minutes

Step 7 :

Pressure cook all of them for 2 whistles

Step 8 :

Cool and blend

Step 9 :

Serve hot with a dash of lime
