A healthy Indian dessert made with sweet potatoes and gluten-free flour.

Cooking Steps

Sugar Syrup

Step 1 :

Boil sugar and water together till it simmers. Add rose water and green cardamom to it.

Step 2 :

Once it reaches a thin syrupy consistency, remove the syrup from the flame.

Jamuns

Step 1 :

Knead the boiled sweet potatoes well to remove any lumps.

Step 2 :

Add the milk powder and mix well into the sweet potatoes.

Step 3 :

Finally, add the amaranth flour and mix well into the mixture. There shouldn't be any lumps in the mixture.

Step 4 :

Divide the dough equally and shape them into round balls.

Step 5 :

Deep fry the balls till golden brown and dip them in the sugar syrup immediately.

Step 6 :

Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve warm.
