A simple, wholesome Indian sweet made with proso millet flour, jaggery, and ghee, perfect for guilt-free indulgence.

Cooking Steps

Proso Millet Burfi

Step 1 :

Grease a plate lightly with ghee and keep aside.

Step 2 :

Heat the powdered jaggery in a pan with ¼ cup water until it reaches single-thread consistency. Remove and keep aside.

Step 3 :

Heat a pan, add a little ghee, add the proso millet flour, and roast on low flame until a nice aroma comes.

Step 4 :

Add the prepared jaggery syrup and cardamom powder, mixing quickly to avoid lumps.

Step 5 :

Add the remaining ghee and stir continuously for 2–3 minutes until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.

Step 6 :

Step 7 :

Allow to cool completely, then cut into small pieces and serve.
