Step 1 :

Marinate the fish with ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp salt. Keep it for 5 minutes.

Step 2 :

Heat the pan and add mustard oil in it.

Step 3 :

Fry the fish a little and keep it aside.

Step 4 :

Take a big bowl with air tight lid.

Step 5 :

Add 4 tbsp mustard sauce, 4 tbsp yogurt, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ¼ tsp red chilli powder, 4 slit green chillies, ¼ tsp sugar, and ½ tsp salt. Mix it well.

Step 6 :

Add 3 tbsp mustard oil in it, stir it well.

Step 7 :

Now, add the fried fish. Pour ½ a cup of water. Toss it well and close the vessel with a lid.

Step 8 :

Now, heat a big pan and add water. Put the container in water and cover the pan.

Step 9 :

Then, cook it on medium flame for about 15 minutes.

Step 10 :

Put off your gas stove and remove the container from the pan.

Step 11 :

Serve hot Rui Macher Bhapa with hot steamed rice.
