Nirapara Appam Idiyappam Powder is rice flour which is specially formulated and slightly varied for the perfect Appams and Noolpottus. Appam is the traditional Kerala break-fast pancake which is a preferred food variety in Tamilnadu, certain parts of Karnataka and Sri Lanka.
Idiyappam is a steamed dish, like Idlis, which is made of rice batter pressed into noodle form before steamed. Appams made from Nirapara Appam/Idiyappam Podi is famed for its pure white colour, even texture and softness. It is served with vegetarian or non-vegetarian dishes.
Nirapara Appam:
Take 4 tablespoons of Nirapara Appam Powder, mix it in a little water and boil till it becomes pulpy.
Add one pinch of yeast and the milk of 1 coconut to Nirapara Appam powder.
Add salt, water and the mixed portion, set aside earlier.
Whisk it all in a mixie for one minute and keep it to rise (for about 10 hours).
You can make tasty appams with this batter.
