Pure and Danedar Gir Cow’s Ghee made using Vedic Bilona Padati

Our Vedas too have prescribed 5 sanskaras (steps) to make the desi ghee.

  1. Boiling The first sanskar is where milk is boiled, ensuring it is free from bacteria. As per vedic tradition, we use milk of grass-fed desi cows in making ghee.
  2. Setting Curd Milk is set to curd and is placed in a room for fermentation before the churning process.
  3. Churning of curds in Bilona The curd is churned in an ancient vedic wooden churner called Bilona.
  4. Separating Makkhan/butter On churning curds, both butter and buttermilk are separated and butter/makkhan is transferred to the heating kadai.
  5. Heating makhan/butter The Makkhan is now heated over firewood on a slow flame, which results in Pure, Danedar Ghee.
